Former distribution: As now.
Present distribution: Central and southern Tanzania, south-eastern Zaire, Zambia, Malawi, Mozambique, Zimbabwe, north-eastern Botswana, eastern Swaziland and north-eastern Transvaal.
Behaviour: Preferred habitat: low-growing bush and scrub woodlands; usually they live singly and are generally active at night; they are predominantly browsers of leaves and herbs, but also eat grass. Predators include leopards, cheetahs, servals, jackals, hyenas and pythons.
Population status: No records, probably stable.

Remarks: Grysbucks are very little known; more information required on behaviour and population status.
